U.S. East Port Strike on the Horizon! MSC Notice
One of shipping company “MSC” said in a newly released statement that it expects a possible port strike in the U.S. East and Gulf Coast after the contract expires on Sept. 30, as negotiations between the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and the U.S. Maritime Alliance, Inc. and U.S. Maritime Union, Inc. (USMX) approach their deadline.
In the event of a strike, MSC says it is prepared to help customers explore alternatives to keep the supply chain flowing, including alternative routes, modes of transportation or distribution plans.
Specifically, MSC gave the following options:
